  • Well lets see i got one of those a couple of months ago! I have since started bringing some of the stuff that doesn't fit into a can to the dump my self. I wonder where all that money goes??!! I also wonder if any other town can put garbadge bags out in front of ther house for pick up?! I was told when i got my ticket that it was because of they didn't want the garbadge going into the street and possible going into the storm drains and the borough possibly recieving fines from the state for such. Some thing about the clean water act? Not to sure. Does any other town have this problem? A garbadge bag out of the can tied up, and a fine for just that???

  • I've noticed that in Fair Haven and Middletown, you have to buy your garbage can(s) from the town, and they won't touch garbage bags, though I'm not sure whether they ticket.

  • Do you mean to tell me that if someone wanted to engage in some criminal mischief … er … I mean "some clean summer time fun," all they would have to do is put a bag of trash in front of, say, an unsuspecting neighbor's house and then just wait? Oh, to think of all the fun we'll have in Judge Himmelman's courtroom. Yeah, sweet summer fun. :-)

  • I'm cool with the bags in cans rule. It just takes one rat/racoon/whatever to shread a bag with, say, chicken parts in it.
    Buy a can…
