Diane Gooch has abandoned her quest for a recount in her GOP primary race against Highlands Mayor Anna Little, the Gooch campaign said in an announcement this afternoon.
The Rumson millionaire and vice chair of the Monmouth County Republican Party says she supports Little, with whom she shares the goals of smaller government and lower taxes.

GOOCH CAMPAIGN STATEMENT
“I Have Decided Against Asking For A Recount”
Having carefully reviewed the final count for the CD6 Republican Primary, I have decided against asking for a recount. I am grateful for the experience I have gained in running and for all of the wonderful new friends I have made along the way.
I support Anna Little in her effort to become the Republican Congresswoman for CD6. We both want smaller government, lower taxes, and to encourage job growth through the private sector. Today, I step out of the race for Congress in CD6 and voice my support for Anna Little for Congress.

That a boy Mickey..
The right move. Support beating Pallone.
That’s very honorably, Ms. Gooch.
Hat tip to ya’Diane ,Now lets bury Frank and his Pallonecare !
Little government is good government
Diane Gooch is a class act and a real patriot. She has singlehandedly united a broad coalition of Republicans, Independents and sane Democrats to defeat Socialist Pallone in November.
I supported Anna Little, but I’m surprised at no recount. I even more surprised at some of the responses here that portrayed Gooch or anyone asking for a recount in a very close race to be unpatriotic, slimy or attempting to buy the election. This is not the same as Al Gore attempting to nullify the absentee ballots of Servicemen serving overseas. Now THAT’S slimy and unpatriotic.
Errors can be made and a need for validity of an election is crucial.
With or without a recount, I’m glad Gooch is supporting Little the same way Little would be supporting her.
Round Two: Pallone. Come out swinging.
