WATER SUPPLIER LIFTS RESTRICTIONS

hot-topic rightNew Jersey American Water has lifted its request that customers in Monmouth and Ocean counties restrict their H2O usage.

Citing compliance with the “mandatory” restriction imposed without warning on Monmouth customers July 3 in anticipation of heavy holiday demand and last week’s heat wave, the company says the limit has been ended.

From the Star-Ledger:

“Our costumers were very cooperative to responding to our requests, so the high demand levels we experienced over the July 4 weekend had been reduced,” said Barnes. “So thanks to our costumers were were able to lift the restrictions.”

Still, the company asks costumers to adhere to an odd-even schedule for watering their lawns and washing their cars. Customers with odd-number addresses should only use water for these tasks on odd days of the month.

“The heat over the past week increased our demand from costumers, but now the demand has leveled off,” Barnes said. “But we still asking our costumers to use water wisely.”
