Kelly Feeney writes in the paper’s Metropolitan section that the “small red shack has an easy, low-key feel.”

On a lazy summer night, its a relaxing place to bring friends and beer, its B.Y.O. and try a sampling of seafood from the short menu: blackened grouper fingers ($7.95), sautéed garlic shrimp ($8.95), coconut-crusted scallops ($10.95), fresh steamers ($18.95 for a pound and a half) and a variety of fried and Cajun-style fish platters (about $13.95).
The setting is Key West casual flip-flops and shorts seem to be requisite. You order at the counter and then take a seat at one of the picnic-style tables on the bi-level deck, part of which is covered by a tent. Theres usually live music on Fridays and Sunday evenings.
Also getting called out for attention these days, as it has been many times in the past, is David Burke Fromagerie in Rumson.
For the second year in a row, Wine Spectator magazine gave the restaurant its award of excellence for its extensive wine list, and New Jersey Monthly named Fromagerie one of the top 25 restaurants in the Garden State in its annual dining issue.
