A 27-year-old Red Bank woman died after being struck by a vehicle while walking in a Middletown parking lot Monday morning, township police said.
Janet Ramos-Morales, whose street address was not immediately given, was hit at 11:24 in the lot of the Bank of America branch at the intersection of Route 35 and Navesink River Road, the MTPD said in an announcement issued late Monday night.
Ramos-Morales was treated at the scene by MONOC Paramedics and the Leonardo First Aid Squad and transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, where she was pronounced dead at 220 p.m., police said.
The driver of the vehicle that struck Ramos-Morales was not identified in the announcement.
An investigation is being conducted by Corporal Nick Caprio and Corporal Cliff OÂ’Hara, with assistance from Corporal Darrin Simon and Sergeant First Class Fred Deickmann.
