Press release from Red Bank Regional High School

Red Bank Regional High School’s cyber security students have once again performed exceptionally well in this year’s Air Force Association national premier Cyber Patriot competition.

The team, which began preparations over the summer, has progressed to the semi-final competition after succeeding in two qualifying rounds. They are one of 50 teams to make the cut among 600 who competed in the nation.

This year’s team consists of ten students: Tucker Machard, Zach Carrano (Little Silver), Tyler Birn (Red Bank), Mark Eulner, Josh Even (Shrewsbury); Alex Dannecker, Ryan Terpak, Cris Sochacki, Louis DiOrio, and Christian Bonomo (Union Beach).  RBR technology teacher Mandy Galante is the team coach, and RBR technology teacher Jeremy Milonas is the team mentor. The semi-final takes place in January with the final competition set for Washington D.C. in the early spring.

The CyberPatriot national competition is co-sponsored by government, non-profit and commercial sources under the direction of the non-profit Air Force Association. Their mission is to promote an understanding of cyber defense and its importance to the national security of the United States.
