Two Rumson men were arrested Saturday following a predawn report of shots fired, police said.
Matthew Robertson, 21, and Michael Robertson, 22, were stopped by police as they attempted to flee after shots were reported in the area of Tyson Drive and Haddon Park at about 3:34 a.m., police spokesman and Detective Steve Schneider said in press release.
No street address or relationship of the two suspects, if any, was given, and Schneider could not immediately be reached for comment Saturday afternoon.
Schneider, who is investigating the case, also did not release information about the circumstances under which the shots were fired or who was assaulted and why.

On this date, June 7, 2014, at approximately 3:34 a.m., Fair Haven Police Officers Cpl. Waltz, S.O.’s Antonio Murray and Brooks Robinson responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Tyson Dr. and Haddon Park. Upon the arrival of patrols, two subjects were quickly apprehended that were observed attempting to flee the area. Matthew Robertson, 21, Rumson, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, Assault with a Firearm, Terroristic Threats, Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Discharging a Firearm with bail set at $125,000 (w/no 10% option). Michael Robertson, 22, Rumson was also arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with bail set at $10,000 (w/10% option). Both subjects were released on bail set by Judge Thompson. Red Bank and Little Silver Police Departments assisted. Detective Schneider is investigating.
