Mi, mi, mi….
Warm up your pipes, Red Bank area belters. Here’s your shot at singing on a national platform.
Francis Scott Key’s ‘Star Spangled Banner‘ is 200 years old this year, and in conjunction with Flag Day this Saturday, the Smithsonian Institution is planning a 200th-anniversary event called “Raise It Up” that features a national singalong to the national anthem.
Red Bank Elks Lodge #233 is participating, with a singing of the anthem at Riverside Gardens Park, next door to its West Front Street clubhouse, at 4 p.m.
Participating are Boy Scout Troop 67, the Chorus of the Atlantic and the bagpipers of Atlantic Watch, as well as the officers and members of Red Bank Elks #233 Leading the singalong will be the lodge’s Exalted Ruler, Joe McGrath.
The public is invited to chime in, and participants are asked to arrive by 3:45 p.m.
