TOYMASTERS HOSTS CHRISTMAS IN JULY

hobbymasters-8187143This July, kids can celebrate Christmas at Toymasters in Red Bank.Voted “New Jersey’s Best Toy Store” by New Jersey Monthly magazine, Toymasters is partnering with the borough-based nonprofit Lunch Break to raise funds for underprivileged children.

During the entire month of July, customers can make a donation and in return receive a customized ornament that will be hung on the Lunch Break Holiday Tree in the shop. All proceeds will directly support Lunch Break’s Adopt-A-Family Holiday Gift Program at the close of this year.

Last year, Lunch Break provided over 1,500 children with toys and gifts during the holiday season, a fact that prompted Toymasters owner Denise Zappoli to partner with the community resource, which has been serving neighbors in need since 1983.

“Many people think Lunch Break is just a ‘soup kitchen’,” said Lunch Break executive director Gwen Love. “We have a food pantry and a homebound delivery service for members of the community who are ill or disabled. We run a clothing distribution program and a Suited for Success program where we outfit—from head to toe—members of the community who are interviewing for jobs, entering the workforce, or attending formal occasions.

“We host social service providers on site to connect our clients with a range of health and social service resources. We also have a school backpack program; a Community Gardener’s Market that distributes free produce; a Lunch Break Job Board, and an Internet Cafe where our guests can research jobs, write resumes, and check their email.”

The “Christmas in July” promotion will be held July 1 – 31 at Toymasters, located at 62 White Street. The store is open seven days a week — Monday through Thursday 10 am to 6 pm; Friday 10 am to 8pm; Saturday 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday from noon to 5 pm. Visit the store at their website, on FaceBook, or call (732)530-TOYS for more information.
