Coming up at Monday night’s meeting of the Little Silver borough council: a presentation on the possibility of installing artificial turf at Sickles Field.
The recreation committee is slated to outline the pros and cons of pursing an Open Spaces grant from Monmouth County to cover some of the costs of a such a project, recreation Director Doug Glassmacher tells redbankgreen.
In an email, Glasmacher said “there will be  discussion as to the possibility of seeking a grant to fund turfing of a field in LS, with Sickles being a possibility, but since it is so large it may be too expensive. Not sure if there will be a grant application by LS or if we would even qualify.”
The presentation, during the council’s workshop session, is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers at borough hall.
Here’s the agenda for the regular council meeting at 8 p.m., which doesn’t include workshop items: Agenda August 4, 2014
