piehole_cravings-1447600Seasonal changes can induce all sorts of fresh cravings, and with September screaming “apple season,” PieHole stumbles on a dessert so tasty, and in such an unlikely place, that sharing our bonanza is all we can do.

Read on to see where you can feast on this crave-able cinnamon-scented apple burrito.

We were curious to see if the menu at the new Caliente Cantina in Red Bank is different from that of its predecessor, 10th Ave. Burrito. It is indeed somewhat transformed, and we plan to address that in an upcoming What’s For Lunch post.

But the dessert options piqued our interest, kicking off a new season of craving.

In this apple-strudel-meets-Tex-Mex-burrito, an oversized flour tortilla is crammed with apple chunks that have been cooked down to a cinnamon-scented sweetness, fried to a lightly crisped consistency, drizzled with caramel sauce and chocolate sauce, then accented with whipped cream and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

It’s what we’re craving this week. Are you craving something delicious as well? Mention it in a comment and maybe we’ll follow-up and feature your craving here, too.

Have you had this or other dessert burritos? Click to share you wisdom here!
