Umberto’s Pizzeria, a Fair Haven stalwart for at least 35 years, is closing at the end of the month, the restaurant announced on its Facebook page earlier this week.

A drizzly night didn’t stop the hearty kids and adults of Fair Haven from coming out to greet Santa Claus Friday night.
Leaving his sleigh at the North Pole until Christmas Eve, jolly old St. Nick got a lift to the annual Christmas tree lighting from the Fair Haven Volunteer Fire Department.

Silvio Fabbri has no patience for it.
“It starts with good steak,” says the owner of Umberto’s Pizzeria, on River Road in Fair Haven. “You can’t buy cheap ****.”
