There was a knock on the family’s front door in Fair Haven, and when he looked up, “I saw that policeman’s hat” through the topmost pane, he told redbankgreen this week.
Wearing “that hat” was police Chief Carl Jaubecy, who let young Darryl sit in his lap as he offered the boy’s mother a job as a school crossing guard.
“That was it,” said Breckenridge, who’s now closing out a 35-year career in law enforcement, the last 10 as chief himself. “From that day, I knew I was going to do it.”

The Borough of Fair Haven wishes to acknowledge the very sad and untimely passing of Special Police Officer Robert Henne. Officer Henne passed away at his family home in Fair Haven, on March 23, 2015.
Officer Henne grew up in Fair Haven and graduated from Rumson Fair Haven High School. He was also a graduate of the 39th Monmouth County Police Academy.

10/04- A River Road business owner reported an attempted break-in at his location. Sgt. Dyksta and Ptl. Koetzner responded and observed what appeared to be pry marks on an outside door. Investigation was forwarded to Det. Stephen Schneider, no losses were reported.
10/06- Douglas Denoia, 25, Ocean, was charged with Possession of Radio Capable of Receiving Police, Fire or Emergency Medical Communications While in the Commission of a Crime. Sgt. Dykstra signed the complaint.

09/02/14-William Cusa 3rd, 20, Rumson, turned himself in on an outstanding traffic warrant out of Fair Haven Borough. Bail was paid in full before his release. Ptl. Dwayne Reevey was the arresting Officer.
09/03/14-Rudolph Kastner, 50, Fair Haven, was placed under arrest for two active warrants out of Sea Bright. Subject was arrested and released R.O.R pending a new court appearance in Sea Bright Borough. S/O Robert Henne was the arresting Officer.

08/08/14- Erick Aviles-Sibrian, 21, Red Bank, was placed under arrest for possession of under 50 grams of Marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Subject was processed and later released pending a Fair Haven Court appearance. Ptl. John Koetzner was the arresting Officer assisted by Sgt. Jesse Dykstra.
8/22/14-Andrew Halper, 18, Eatontown, turned himself in on an active traffic warrant out of Fair Haven. Subject posted bail and was released. Ptl. John Koetzner was the arresting Officer.

02/08- Gabrielle Zomro, Age 26, Rumson was arrested by Ptl. Dwayne Reevey for Driving While Intoxicated. Ms. Zomro also received summonses for Speeding and Reckless Driving. Subject was released pending a Fair Haven Court appearance.
August 4: Cpl. Jeff Jarvis took a theft report from the owner of a boat docked at the Shrewsbury River Yacht Club. $530.00 worth of property was removed from the vessel by and unknown actor(s). Det. Stephen Schneider is investigating.
August 4: S/O Robert Henne took a report of Criminal Mischief from a River Road resident. An unknown actor(s) broke the driver’s side window of a vehicle parked in the victim’s driveway. Nothing was removed from the vehicle.

At the November 30 meeting of the Rumson School District Board of Education, Superintendent Dr. John Bormann and fellow board members congratulated students in grades 3-8 for obtaining perfect scores on the 2015 PARCC English Language Arts, PARCC Mathematics, and/or NJASK Science assessments.
The PARCC is given each year in the Spring to students in grades 3-8, and the NJASK is given in science to students in grade 4 and in grade 8.

On October 21, 2011 at approximately 12:00 pm Corporal Bernard Chenoweth and Corporal George Freibott, responded to a residence on Marion Drive in reference to a burglary in progress. Upon arrival at the residence Corporal Chenoweth observed a subject, identified as Scott Gibson, age 27, from Bartram Road in Englishtown, NJ, running from the residence carrying a bag of stolen items. Corporal Chenoweth chased the subject on foot and was able to take him into custody after a brief struggle.
