RED BANK: SWAP STUFF AT ‘FREE MARKET’
October 20, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
What’s a “free market”? It’s a common space where people can bring their unwanted stuff to give away to others and take things that they need, all without any money exchanging hands. Based on the “gift economy,” it’s socially responsible, environmentally friendly and good to your wallet.
This is the second Free Market organized by Red Bank POP (People Over Politics), a fledgling community group, and is open to Red Bank residents, their families and friends.
Participants may drop off their stuff on Friday, October 19, from 4 to 7 p.m., , or on the morning of the free market before 10 am. In the spirit of the event, items picked up at the event should not be resold, and participants who take items are asked to register.
Volunteer are needed to help set up, handle registration or greet and monitor activity.
