DORIAN LA PADURA: EXPLORATIONS OF GEOMETRY, COLOR, AND LIGHT

Dorian La Padura will show paintings in the windows of the Art Alliance during the month of February. La Padura’s paintings are a balance of her observations of the world around her and her exploration of geometry, color, and light. Other works are pure abstraction. The paintings of glass objects are fields of curvilinear forms expressing transparent, translucent, refractive, and reflective states composed of deep jewel like color and interesting color relationships.
La Padura was born in the United Kingdom with an English mother and an Italian American father who was a sculptor. She attended art schools in New York City and had a career in illustration. She opened a mural company in Williamsburg Brooklyn in 1993. She enjoys creating site specific murals and color plans for architectural spaces.
Her work is in many private collections as well as mural work in many architectural and retail spaces.
In the main gallery space LaPadura will jury work on the themes Nothing but Flowers and Rooms.
An Artists’ Reception will be held Saturday, February 7th from 6-8 PM. The public is invited to attend. The exhibition is on view until March 3rd, Tuesday – Saturday, 12-4 PM. Free of charge.
