MIDDLETOWN: GREATS OF GARDEN STATE FOOTBALL

Middletown Township Public Library hosts a free, virtual program on “Garden State Greats: Legends & Lore of New Jersey Football.”

Sports author and historian Mark Stewart will provide an overview of New Jersey’s role in the evolution of football, from high school to college to the pros—including the first American football games in 1869 and the state’s initial attempt at fielding an NFL team more than 80 years ago. He will also present short biographical sketches of his favorite New Jersey football stars and conclude with his all-time Top 10 list.
