Project Write Now’s Community Celebration

October 21, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Free

Project Write Now invites you to celebrate 12 years of building community through writing at its annual Community Celebration.

The evening will begin at 5 p.m. in the lobby with a reception featuring live music, light refreshments, and interactive activities with local community partners. At 6 p.m., guests will gather in the theater for a special commemorative show featuring live readings and performances by writers of all ages, along with award presentations recognizing outstanding educators, volunteers, and community partners.

This year’s honorees include Kim Christman (Champion of Voices Educator Award); Colleen Doogan and Tina Goodyear (Champion of Voices Volunteer Award); and Asbury Book Cooperative, Asbury Park Public Library, and City of Asbury Park Mayor’s Wellness Committee (Voices for Change Community Partner Award).

The celebration will also feature performances by writers representing Project Write Now’s youth, teen, and adult programs, including students from Red Bank Middle School, Asbury Park High School, and Markham Place School, as well as participants from Shore House and PWN Writers. Music will be provided by Meg Whalen and Kristin OBrien.
