SHREWSBURY: “BARBIE: AN AMERICAN ICON”
October 19, 2023, 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
FreeIn the 1950s, children could only play with baby dolls. Ruth Handler decided to invent a doll with adult features. The doll named Barbie was a “teen-age fashion model” who had fabulous outfits, lived in a Dreamhouse and drove a Corvette.
Presenter Rick Feingold, who teaches American business history at Bergen County Community College, takes us on a journey to learn how the world’s most loved doll came to be.
Registration requested; seating is limited. All attendees will be entered into a random drawing for one of three Barbie dolls.
