LINCROFT: ST. LEO’S SUMMER PREVIEW

stleo-1858115St. Leo the Great Parish in Lincroft kicks off six nights of pre-summer funraising, with a Carnival that commences on Monday, June 16.

Longtime locals on the greater Green know that the Fair Haven Fireman’s Fair signals those bittersweet waning days and nights of summer vacation. On the other hand, if you’re looking for a “bookend” event that heralds the school’s-out season of fun and possibility, look no further than the St. Leo the Great Parish Carnival, the annual affair that lights up the midway for six nights beginning Monday, June 16.

A fundraiser for St. Leo the Great School, the all-invited fair runs between the hours of 6 to 11 pm, through June 21 — with alternate evenings (June 17, 19 and 21) designated as Bracelet Nights, during which attendees can enjoy unlimited rides with the purchase of a pay-one-price wristband.

A favorite with multiple generations of parishioners and community neighbors, the Carnival offers more than 15 rides and lots of activities (including sand art and face painting) for the younger set — plus freshly prepared food and snacks (there are no outside food vendors) and a variety of skill games for grownups. A highlight is the Super 50/50 raffle, with a projected jackpot of $200,000 (based on 2,000 available tickets at $100 each) awarded at 9 pm on the final night of the Carnival, June 21.

It all takes place on the grounds of St. Leo’s at 50 Hurleys Lane (just off Newman Springs Road near the Acme shopping plaza); call (732)747-5466 for further information.

Remember: Nothing makes a Red Bank friend happier than to hear "I saw you on Red Bank Green!"
