A new “Welcome to Red Bank” sign has gone up at the northern Route 35 entrance to town at the foot of Cooper’s Bridge.
It was installed as part of the conversion of the old Bridge Avenue Gas (remember that sign?) station into Rallo’s Alimentari & Focacceria, by Victor Rallo, owner of the adjacent Birravino.
Work continues apace on the project. According to a press release from NYC-based architecture firm Mancini (which has a Red Bank office): “More than 400 plants have transformed the gas station, and both the large doors and firepits that will serve as a major focal point have been installed. Attention is now turning inside, where construction is beginning to bring Mancini’s restaurant design to life, including custom tile being manufactured specifically for the project. ”
