The agenda for tonight’s bimonthly meeting of the Red Bank mayor and council includes a presentation on the Marine Park bulkhead replacement project that, at last word, was scheduled to begin next month.
Also on the docket: a gay rights resolution; a bid to cut natural gas expenses; a bond increase; and a street renaming.

Last week, redbankgreen reported that a proposal to rename Locust Avenue in honor of the late borough mayor and state Supreme Court Associate Justice Daniel J. OHern was ceremonial. But it looks like we were wrong. The agenda includes an ordinance stating that Locust Avenue “shall hereby be named Justice O’Hern Avenue.” Here’s the wording: 2009-23
A proposed change to a bond ordinance would add $206,000 to the amount borrowed for repairs and upgrades to the seven water filtration tanks use by the borough water authority.
