Press release from Brookdale Community College
On the evening of Wednesday, December 10, Brookdale Community College will host a free information session for its award-winning paralegal studies program.
Community members are invited to meet with program faculty, tour campus facilities and learn about the paralegal profession. The information session will be held at 5:30 pm in Room 204 of Larrison Hall on Brookdale’s Lincroft campus. It is free and open to the public.
“This program opens so many doors for our students,” said assistant Professor Michael Sullivan, assistant professor of legal studies at Brookdale. “Our graduates have gone on to work for law firms, banks, corporate insurance firms and government agencies, just to name a few.”
Sullivan, one of three licensed attorneys teaching in the Brookdale program, added that paralegals have become more valuable to today’s employers. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of paralegals and legal assistants is projected to grow 17 percent by 2022.
Brookdale’s paralegal program prepares students for immediate job placement, and was named one of the three best programs in the state in the New Jersey Law Journal’s Best of 2013 survey. For more information contact Phyllis Nicholson at (732)224-2014 or email [email protected].
