“Façade Feeling” by Olivia Murray (Little Silver) and “A Single Occupation” by Emily Plageman (Shrewsbury) are among the original works on exhibit at Canvas Art Studio, as the Rumson gallery hosts the best of the Red Bank Regional photography majors, beginning with a reception on Friday, May 15.

The photography majors in the Visual and Performing Arts Academy (VPA) at Red Bank Regional High School will be exhibiting their work for their “Senior Photo Show” at the Canvas Art Studio, from May 15 through May 27. Visitors can meet the artists at a May 15 kickoff reception running from 6 to 8 pm at the gallery, located at 126 East River Road.
The students showcasing their work include Jeanne Landers (Interlaken), Olivia Murray (Little Silver), Emily Plageman (Shrewsbury), Victoria Seebeck (Belmar), and Maya Smith (Little Silver). There is no charge to view the show, and all are welcome.
The students’ commercial photography teacher Dawn Lisko states, “This show represents the culmination of a four-year long journey upon which these gifted young artists embarked…they eventually developed their own distinctive style evident in this show. They also have grown as a group that looks to each other for inspiration and constructive criticism.”
She adds, “These images are sure to please and leave you filled with inspiration and appreciation.”
According to their website, “Canvas Studio Art provides knowledgeable and caring instruction in their Canvas Classes, unique opportunities to explore and gain deeper understanding of new media and processes in Workshops to explore your personal artistic direction. Canvas Camps provide a fun and enriching opportunity for young artists to build basic art and design skill while exploring a variety of media.”
