The Red Bank Recreation Department is unveiling a new Halloween event this year: the Jack O’ Lantern Drop. Residents can carve their own jack o lantern at home and bring it Thursday to Riverside Gardens Park where it will be displayed along with all the other submissions until Halloween. There will be prizes for the best carvings. See more info below.More info from the web site of event co-sponsor Red Bank RiverCenter:
“Candles are not permitted. We recommend using a battery powered tea light to illuminate your jack-o-lantern. The jack-o-lanterns will be on display from October 24 to October 31. Our panel of judges will examine each entry and a winner will be announced on October 30! Winners will receive a Red Bank Bucks digital gift card! 1st place gets $100, 2nd place gets $75, and 3rd place gets $50!
The event overlaps with Rivercenter’s annual Witches Night Out event, whose nightlong schedule of activities includes a witches dance (assumedly among the jack o’ lanterns?) at Riverside Gardens Park. See flyer below and click here for more info.
