Call them spy dads.
Kevin Hart, Henry Cavill and their pregnant on-screen partners converged on Red Bank Monday morning to film scenes for their upcoming Netflix spy movie.
Filming continued Tuesday along the Broad Street pedestrian plaza known as “Broadwalk”, drawing a small crowd of onlookers both days.
Hart and Cavill play rival spies who cross paths while attending a Lamaze class with their pregnant wives in the film.
The movie is officially untitled, but chairs on set bear the production name “The Serpent and the Snake.” Netflix bulletins advising locals of filming carry the title “Spy Duo.”
Hart, 47, wore a T-shirt emblazoned with the name of the band The Police. He pulled up in a striking green Porsche Carrera for the Lamaze class scene with Aja Naomi King (“Lessons in Chemistry”), who plays his wife.
At least two storefronts on Broadwalk were transformed into fictional businesses for the shoot: the vacant building at 21-23 Broad Street was emblazoned with signage reading “New Rock Yoga.”
And next door, the boutique Dor L’Dor was turned into “Beyond the Bump” maternity wear, complete with a row of pregnant looking mannequins in the window.
In the film, Justine Lupe (“Succession”) plays wife to Cavill, 43, who played DC’s Superman in the 2010s.
King, 41, and Lupe, 37, were costumed with prominent bumps for the production. They filmed with Hart and Cavill on Broad Street outside the storefronts.
The director McG, known for the “Charlie’s Angels” movies, worked on the Red Bank set with the actors.
The Netflix spy film was penned by sisters Wendy and Lizzie Molyneux (“Bob’s Burgers,” “The Great North”), brothers Adam and Aaron Nee (“Masters of the Universe”) and Jonathan Tropper (“Lucky”).
The movie previously filmed at a private home in Glen Ridge, among other New Jersey locations. Its cast will also include “White Lotus” actor Jason Isaacs.
Hart, a producer of the movie, recently starred in the Netflix comedy “72 Hours,” which also filmed in New Jersey.
The actor and comedian also led the 2016 spy movie “Central Intelligence” with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as well as the 2024 Netflix film “Lift,” which saw his character team up with an Interpol agent. Cavill, who debuted as Superman in 2013, also has some big spy movie credentials: “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” (2015), “Mission Impossible — Fallout” (2018) and “Argylle” (2024).
Hart and Cavill’s spy film is one of many Netflix productions in the works as the streamer prepares to open Netflix Studios at Fort Monmouth in 2027.
A drive past the former fort Tuesday morning showed two large sound stage buildings rising not far from the Route 35 entrance.
