RBR TECH TEAMS TAKE TOP HONORS

This past fall, a number of students from the Academy of Information Technology at Red Bank Regional High School participated in the online tech competitions sponsored by the Central Regional Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). With 19 RBR students qualifying to compete, the results were stunning, as they swept the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions in four categories, while placing high in several others. The students will be competing at the 2016 FBLA NJ State competitions, which will be held in February at Harrah’s Conference Center in Atlantic City.

teamtwoofficial-6680473Among the 19 RBR students who placed high in the regional FBLA competitions were (front row, left to right) CJ Bevacqua, Josh Goldsmith, Max Mason, and (back row, left to right): Shane Mehr, Chloe Sharpe, Dylan Reitsma, Harry Jain and Eric Dark. Missing from the photos were Andrew DeRose, Matt Cindrario, and Nahjeek Mitter. 

Taking first, second, third and fifth place respectively in Intro to Information Technology were Chloe Sharpe, Bradley Beach; Josh Goldsmith, Little Silver; Harry Jain, Red Bank, and Dylan Reitsma, Belmar. Taking first, second, third and fifth place respectively in Network Concepts were Devin Long, Union Beach; Makoto Brown, Tinton Falls; Eric Dark, Little Silver, and Shane Mehr, Allenhurst. Taking first, second and third place respectively in Computer Problem Solving were Bobby Villaluz, Shrewsbury; Max Mason, Belmar; Matt Cindrario, Shrewsbury; competing Nahjeek Mitter, Red Bank.

Taking first, second and third place respectively in Cybersecurity were Nicole Ortiz, Shrewsbury; Nick Polis Shrewsbury; James Szwede, Little Silver; competing C.J. Bevacqua, Red Bank. The Networking Design third place spot was taken by the team of Young Chen, Belmar, Andrew DeRose, Shrewsbury, and Zach MacLean, Union Beach. Additionally two RBR students have completed programming projects to present at the States competition: Kyle Neary in the Computer Game and Simulation Programming event, and Andrew Schembor in the Desktop Application Programming event.
