BUILDING SUPPORT FOR RED BANK LIBRARY

rb-library-1-040913-500x375-8384091Press release from Red Bank Public Library

This week, Red Bank residents will be finding an envelope from their library amongst all the holiday cards in their mailbox. The Foundation for the Red Bank Public Library has recently sent out its third annual appeal in order to build financial support for the Red Bank Public Library’s many programs and collections. During this season of giving, the Foundation hopes to continue the strong tradition of support shown by the Red Bank community.

While the Red Bank Library receives mandated funding, it relies on the generosity of library supporters to strengthen its financial position, allowing the Library to expand its offerings and better serve the community.

The benefits of having a strong library in our community are many. If you think libraries are still just buildings filled with books, you’re missing out.  Currently Red Bank Library cardholders can instantly borrow digital movies, TV, music, audiobooks, eBooks, magazines, and comics, all from the comfort of their homes and all for free. They also have access to amazing databases and learning programs such as Rosetta Stone and Universal Class.

In addition, the Library offered over 100 free programs this year, providing the opportunity for community members to expand their horizons and meet their neighbors. Interested in knitting, chess, or yoga? Go to the Library each week!  How about race relations? Attend the monthly Let’s Talk About Race discussions. Check out the monthly calendar to see what’s coming up.

RBPL also partnered with our local schools for curriculum support, trips to the Library, and summer reading programs. Check out www.redbanklibrary.org to see what other resources are available…there is truly something for everyone.

The Library has set a goal of $20,000 for this year’s appeal, with the funds being dedicated to five goals, established by the Library’s Strategic Plan, which was created this year. For more information, you can read the 2016 Annual Appeal letter and the Strategic Plan here.

Your donation can be made in person at the Library, by mail, or online by going here and clicking the donate button. Because of your generosity, the Library continues to be a vibrant and vital part of our community. It is the most remarkable place in town!
