Press release from Tails of Hope Animal Rescue

Do you know how to help your pet in an emergency? The Englishtown-based NJ chapter of Tails of Hope Animal Rescue is hosting a Pet CPR and First Aid Class for pet owners and pet care professionals on Sunday, April 23.

Between the hours of 12 to 4 p.m., the firehouse headquarters of Shrewsbury Hose Company (783 Broad Street/Route 35 in Shrewsbury) will be the setting for an informational session conducted by Tom Rinelli of Paws ‘N Claws 911, with the 25+ year seasoned emergency medical care provider and educator offering “real world” training with an emphasis on hands-on lifesaving skills.

The class is geared for pet parents, pet care professionals (groomers, sitters, walkers), animal rescue volunteers and emergency service personnel. No prior training or experience required. Some of the topics that will be covered include:

– The “ABC”s of Pet Emergency Care
– CPR (Canine and Feline)
– Rescue Breathing
–  Choking Management
– Bleeding Control/Shock Management
–  and more!

Cost for participating in the one-day session is $65.00 ($20 savings off regular fee), with participants receiving a detailed handbook and certificate of completion. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Tails of Hope, an all breed, non-profit, no-kill 501c3 Animal Rescue organization serving New Jersey. Led by a dedicated group of volunteers working to help the homeless animals in our area, Tails of Hope provides animal rescue, veterinary care,

training, humane education and adoption services. They also work with families to help them keep their animals in their home whenever possible, through education, training and other types of assistance.
