DO YOU KNOW THIS HOOD IN A HOODIE?

mtown-robbery-suspect2

Police dogs couldn’t find him, but maybe one of our readers recognizes this guy who Middletown Police say robbed the Bank of America branch on Route 35 at Navesink River Road last Friday evening.

Here’s the 411 from the MTPD:

At approximately 6:00PM on Friday January 8, 2010, a person described as a white male, age early to mid 20’s, medium build, scruffy dark facial hair, wearing a dark gray or black hooded zippered sweatshirt with a design of the front and wearing sunglasses, entered the Bank of America branch located on Route 35 at the intersection Navesink River Road and demanded cash from the teller. The teller gave the robber an undisclosed amount of cash and the man fled the bank.

The Middletown Twp. Police responded to the bank and requested a canine tracker to attempt to track the path of the suspect.  Officer Nick Bondarew from the Howell Twp. Police Department responded with his canine partner, Jago, and followed a scent to East Wilson Circle where a witness reported seeing a white vehicle parked in the vicinity just prior to the robbery.

No weapon was exhibited during the robbery and no one was injured. Middletown Police Corporal Bernie Chenoweth conducted the initial investigation and was assisted by Sergeant Paul Bailey and Officer Lisa Vreeland. The follow up investigation is being conducted by agents at the Red Bank Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Detective Michael Clancy of the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office, and Detective Sergeant Stephen Dollinger, Detective Adam Finck, Detective Lawrence Hall and Detective Peter White from the Middletown Twp. Police Department.

Attached is a bank surveillance photo of the suspect and anyone who may have any knowledge of this person is asked to call the Middletown Twp. Police Department at 732 615-2100.
