Standing for the vitality of Red Bank, its community, and the fun we have together.

IN TOWN | IN SEPTEMBER: WEEK FIVE

Weekend_092807_2

The newly restored chapel and adjacent grounds at the Fort at Sandy Hook will be the site of a fall arts festival hosted by the Fort Foundation for Arts and Education this weekend.

With registrations beginning at 10a, the Saturday morning program of arts and crafts, yoga, and drumming classes also includes a “Mommy and me make music” workshop led by the folks from Honey Child Music of Red Bank.

The afternoon session starts at 1:30p and will be dedicated to young adults and adults, and features meditation classes, painting, sketching and craft workshops.

On Saturday at 7p, there will be a cocktail reception and exhibit of works by seascape and landscape painter Nick Berger and local artists, with a silent auction of works.

Sunday brings an “Arts in the Park” family day. Bahrs Landing will have chowder, hamburgers and hot dogs for sale while you observe and paint side by side with local artists and our featured nationally recognized artist Nick Berger. Artists should bring their own supplies.

The Fort Foundation for Arts and Education was established in 2004 as a non-profit organization to develop programs that foster artistic and other creative activities. It leases space from The Fort at Sandy Hook, a planned (and controversial) mixed-used development at the Sandy Hook’s northern tip. Sandy Hook Partners is the developer.

For more event information, contact Davina Feingold at 732.708.9013 or email her.
