A 52-year-old Matawan woman was struck by a Jeep as she crossed Broad Street at Mechanic Street in downtown Red Bank around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Police said the 25-year-old driver, a Fair Haven resident, told them she didn’t see the victim as she turned her vehicle southbound onto Broad from Mechanic, though other cars had stopped to let the older woman cross.
The victim was taken to Riverview Medical Center with injuries that were said to be non-life threatening.
No summonses were immediately issued. Patrolwoman Heather Pubylski is investigating.
