Nathan shakin’: the fur-challenged but fancy-moving internet sensation Dancing Nathan is the special guest attraction at the final Red Bank Dog Days event of the summer, this Tuesday.
Capping a successful season (well, maybe with one wet-dog rainout) of Dog Day evenings, Red Bank RiverCenter and the Borough of Red Bank close out the series of monthly events with a special Doggie Carnival on Tuesday, August 19 from 6 to 9 pm — and a special celebrity guest star.
It’s Dancing Nathan, the bone-afide internet sensation who danced his way into America’s hearts with his signature moves to “Gangnam Style” in 2013.
A rescue client of the Greenville, South Carolina-based Bald Is Beautiful Hairless and Small Breed Rescue organization, the hairless Chinese crested dog proved he was no flash in the pan, chasing his initial success with viral videos set to “Cupid Shuffle” and, of course, “Happy.”
Fresh off appearances on Ellen DeGeneres, America’s Funniest Home Videos and Animal Planet, Nathan will be joined by little buddy Gilligan and the folks at Bald is Beautiful, in a personal appearance (with photo ops for fans) that also affords a chance to learn about the rescue nonprofit’s operations, in addition to the adoption services of the ASPCA, the Humane Society, Save US Pets, Paws for a Cause, Home Free Animal rescue and others.
As with previous events in the series, Monmouth Street will be closed to traffic from 6 to 9 pm, with canines and their human handlers invited to stroll and sniff around a vendor marketplace (featuring doggie-centric products and services ranging from organic treats to dog bandanas, toys, collars, leashes and more). Streetside tables and chairs will be provided for take-out dining, and a photo booth will allow all attendees to commemorate their night out on the town. Take it here for additional information.
