COPS: FAIR HAVEN BURGLARY WAS ONE OF 30

authorities_fh3-206x220-5817800A Freehold man was charged this week for a string of store and business burglaries across Monmouth, Ocean and Middlesex counties, including a break-in at a Fair Haven toy shop last month, according law enforcement officials.

In the Fair Haven case, Isiah Casrel, 28, was charged with smashing in a door and stealing a cash box containing $115 from Distinctive Toys, at River Road, on March 19, according to a criminal complaint.

Casrell was linked to the burglary as a result of a multi-jurisdictional investigation, according to Fair Haven Detective Steve Schneider, who served on the task force.

According to Schneider, at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday,

a commercial burglary occurred in Holmdel Township. As the suspects were leaving the scene of the burglary they were spotted and stopped on State Route 34 in the area of the border of Aberdeen Township and Marlboro Township by Marlboro Township Police Officer Johnathan Gramcko. After further investigation, Rachael Lovely, 33, of Newark, and Isiah Casrell, 28, of Freehold Borough were arrested and charged with committing that burglary. Detectives from the Marlboro Township Police, the Howell Township Police and the Holmdel Township Police Departments continued their investigation which led to the suspects being subsequently charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of burglary tools, theft, burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary and criminal mischief. Isiah Casrell was committed to Monmouth County Correctional Facility in Freehold in default of $113,000.00 bail.

Further evidence revealed that the Isiah Casrell was responsible for committing numerous commercial burglaries in the following jurisdictions: Marlboro, Howell, Aberdeen, Colts Neck, Holmdel, Ocean Township, Plumsted Township, Old Bridge, Fair Haven, Berkeley, Upper Freehold Township, Manalapan and Shrewsbury Borough.

About 30 burglaries were believed to have been committed in the spree, Schneider said.

Bail was set at $30,000 in the Fair Haven case. According to the Asbury Park Press Data Universe link to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, Casrell remained in custody Wednesday morning.
