RED BANK: OPEN HOUSE AT THE BOATHOUSE

Red Bank’s Monmouth Boat Club is scheduled to offer an open house event to provide free sailboat rides, and tours of the historic clubhouse on Saturday, May 23.

The event also includes an introduction to the adult sailing program.

Running from 10 am until 2 pm, the event will feature hot dogs and hamburgers available free of charge.  Adult sailing classes are open to prospective sailors from age 18 and up.  There is no upper limit.

The adult sailing program consists of four two-hour lessons on the Navesink River with a U.S. Sailing Association certified instructor. MBC has three 19’ Flying Scots dedicated to the program. Students receive all lessons in appropriate weather conditions, and lessons are postponed and rescheduled for weather-related factors (lack of wind, too much wind, rain, etc.). For additional information contact Denis Farley at (732) 571-5142, or email [email protected].

Founded in 1879, MBC is located near the head of the Navesink River. It is an informal and friendly organization whose members are drawn together by a love of sailing and an appreciation and the charm of our idyllic river. MBC is run and maintained entirely by its members, resulting in a close spirit of cooperation and camaraderie.
