A Red Bank man faces gun- and drug possession charges after a family dispute at the Montgomery Terrace apartments Tuesday morning, police Chief Darren McConnell tells redbankgreen.
Officers responding to the West Side complex on a disturbance call at 8:35 a.m. were told by witnesses that one of the men involved in the dispute had a handgun in the waist of his pants, McConnell said.
After obtaining a search warrant, found James Williams, 30, who resides at Montgomery Terrace, hiding in an upstairs bedroom, he said. Williams surrendered without incident.
Williams was charged with unlawful handgun possession and possession by a person not permitted to have one; cocaine possession; and obstructing arrest. Bail was set at $111,500, and as of early Thursday morning, he was reported to still beheld in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution.
Police also arrested Temarca Davis, 29, another Montgomery Terrace resident, who was charged with obstructing the administration of law and released.
