SEA BRIGHT: A CLAMBAKE FOR A CAUSE

Press release from Tigger House Foundation

6b04fb9a-ed81-4743-8a7e-129624b0483d-220x136-3788726The nonprofit Tigger House Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, has announced their inaugural launch event: INFINITY, a clambake and bonfire to be held on Friday, October 9 at Edgewater Beach & Cabana Club in Sea Bright.

During the 6 pm fundraiser, former Giants defensive tackle, Middletown native and honoree Christian Peter will host an evening that features a slate of guest speakers and celebrity appearances, with live cocktail-hour music from The Red Vespa and after-dinner dancing to the sounds of Rhythm & Vine. Falco Catering will provide an exquisite seafood feast, and attire is stylish beach chic.

In 2013, Lisa and Rick Stavola Sr. founded Tigger House Foundation after they tragically lost their son Rick Jr. (aka “Tigger”) to a heroin overdose at only 25 years old. Devastated and heartbroken, the Stavolas grew determined to fight the heroin and prescription opioid epidemic.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the rate of heroin-related overdose deaths nearly quadrupled between 2002 and 2013, with males 18-25 years of age being at highest risk. Tigger House Foundation is dedicated to making an impact on its community, by reducing the death rate that is a result of heroin and opiate addiction and use. The Foundation opened a 12-bed sober living house in Middletown in 2013, and will continue to help establish housing facilities throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

In addition, Tigger House Foundation has partnered with government, law enforcement, legal and medical professionals to provide opportunities for rehabilitation, and to halt the spread of illicit drugs through local dealers and prescription drug abuse. A further Tigger House goal is to work to change public attitudes toward addicts and addiction by addressing the illicit heroin and opiate epidemic, and implementing a strategic campaign to spread its mission to reach all New Jersey communities impacted by heroin and prescription opioid use.

Tickets to INFINITY are $250. There will be luxury auction items such as a vacation home rental in Mexico, a private jet trip to Las Vegas, luxury handbags, golf packages and more. Go here for information on ticket reservations, donations, and corporate or individual sponsorships.
