Outre is in this Thursday when members of the Red Bank Regional High fashion club put on their annual display of clothing from local boutiques.
Mixed into the uptempo show will be student-made outfits made from magazines, aluminum foil, candy wrappers and other common forms of trash.

An outfit by junior Marcella Schepp, for example, features a skirt made of the pages of discarded book, with a matching purse made from book covers. Others feature duct tape, bubble wrap and plastic trash bags.
“We’re trying to make a statement through fashion” about the great volume of material that is discarded, often ending up in waterways and oceans, says club adviser Robin Malik.
The show, which features high-energy music and lighting, is at 6p Thursday in the school cafeteria. Admission is $3, with $1 of that amount to be donated by the club to the Surfrider Foundation.
