RBR DANCERS PRESENT SPRING EXTRAVAGANZA

On Thursday, May 28, at 7 pm, and Saturday, May 30, at 2 pm, the dance majors from the Visual and Performing Arts Academy (VPA) at Red Bank Regional High School will present their “Spring Dance Extravaganza” inside the RBR theatre.

In the words of RBR teacher Cara Scacco explains, the show will highlight “a variety of dancing genres, including jazz, contemporary, hip hop, modern and lyrical  — an expressive form of ballet.”

In all, forty RBR dance majors will perform 26 numbers; all of them choreographed by the students, with the exception of five pieces which were created by guest choreographers and performing artists that include Barbara Vari, Gabrielle Barnett and Dylan Smith, as well as RBR dance major alumni Elycia Richmond and Sarah Goodhue.

RBR SPRING DANCE SHOW IS A CELEBRATION

SeniordancersRed Bank Regional senior dance majors are dressed for the concluding number of their Spring Dance Performance (as well as their high school careers), which is appropriately named Celebration.

The Academy of Visual and Performing Arts at Red Bank Regional High School presents their Spring Dance Performance on Thursday, May 15 at 7 pm, with an encore performance on Sunday, May 18, at 2 pm.

A total of 47 dancers will perform 29 numbers in a mix of jazz, contemporary, hip hop and lyrical dance styles, choreographed by students and six professional dance/choreographers. Guest artists include Jessica Berube, who teachers dance at the School at Columbia; RBR alumna Cari France, who teaches and choreographs dance; Alex Vari who has performed in musical theater and Bollywood; Barbara Vari, Director of the Woodbridge School of Dance; Meredith Koloski Wehr, a dance and yoga instructor, and New York City dance instructor Dylan Smith, who has danced in national musical tours.
