CBA ICES DON BOSCO FOR STATE CROWN

Baseball powerhouse Don Bosco Prep came into the Non-Public “A” state championship game at Toms River East on Sunday game with a 29-0 record and a national ranking. But Christian Brothers Academy, led by pitcher Luca Dalatri, were unfazed. Dalatri threw a complete game, striking out 12, and added a solo homer in the fifth as the Colts stopped the Ironmen cold, 7-0. CBA TOPS RBC FOR SCT BASEBALL CROWN

In a game rescheduled twice for rainouts, Joe Gargana and Kenny Campbell combined on a four-hit shutout as Lincroft’s Christian Brothers Academy blanked rival Red Bank Catholic, 4-0, to win its second straight Shore Conference baseball title at Toms River North Thursday evening. RBC TO FACE CBA IN SCT BASEBALL FINAL

The Caseys will face top-seed Christian Brothers Academy in the final Monday at Blue Claws Stadium in Lakewood.

BORDENTOWN ENDS SEASON FOR RFH BOYS

Rumson-Fair Haven Regional’s dream season on the hardcourt ended with a 62-56 loss to Bordentown at home Friday night. Shore Sports Zone has the video highlights.

The Bulldogs can console themselves with the Shore Conference title they won last month. Meanwhile, the Lady Bulldogs are still alive in the state tourney, as are both the boys’ and girls’s teams of Red Bank Catholic.

With a 37-29 win over Neptune at Brookdale Community College Wednesday night, Rumson-Fair Haven Regional advanced to Shore Conference Tournament championship game against top-seeded Christian Brothers Academy Friday night at Monmouth U. Trailing 19-17 at the half, the Bulldogs put together a big third quarter to go up, 28-22, and iced the game at the free throw line.
