Postpartum depression (PPD), the most common complication of childbirth, affects one in seven women each year. To raise awareness of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, the public is invited to join “Team Lincroft” on June 28, 10 a.m. at Thompson Park in Lincroft to support Climb Out of the Darkness, the world’s largest event to support this cause.

Held on June 28 in locations throughout the country, Climb Out of the Darkness, is the annual awareness raising and fund-raising event for Postpartum Progress, a nonprofit focused on supporting pregnant and new moms with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders like postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, postpartum OCD, postpartum psychosis and pregnancy depression. The Center of Postpartum Mood and Anxiety Disorders at Monmouth Medical Center will sponsor the local Team Lincroft climb, proceeds from which will support Postpartum Progress.
