RFH ART STUDENTS VISIT SCHROTH SCHOOL

Recently, several students from Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School visited the Schroth School in Ocean Township to participate in art therapy activities and take part in the “Empty Bowls” initiative.

Located in Wanamassa, Schroth School serves students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through twelve, and offers a comprehensive educational program including sensory, mobility, fine motor, social, and thematic language/literary experiences.

Although individual students from Schroth School have visited RFH in the past to demonstrate their artistic procedures and skills — such as painting by mouth — this is the first time that RFH students have participated in artistic endeavors at Schroth.

Six student-athletes marked a milestone by signing National Letters of Intent at a ceremony on February 5, in the Lower Library of Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School.

The National Letter of Intent serves as a binding agreement between student-athletes and their collegiate sports programs. The letter, signed on what is known as National Signing Day, marks the last step in the recruitment and commitment process.

Donald Bedell, who appears at number 23 in The Star Ledger list of “New Jersey’s Top 50 Senior Recruits”, will be a defensive end for the Rutgers University football team.

Bedell, who stands 6’4″ and weighs 230 pounds, made a verbal commitment to the Scarlet Knights in June 2013.

His RFH teammate Peter Righi, a 6’3″ 285-pound offensive lineman, signed his National Letter of Intent to play for Monmouth University in West Long Branch.

RFH FOOTBALLERS ARE SECTIONAL CHAMPS

Bull Dogs Celebrate 1The gridiron Bulldogs of Rumson-Fair Haven captured their second sectional championship in four years, with a 14-6 victory over Weequahic High School in post-season play.

In front of a packed stadium at Kean University in Union, the Rumson-Fair Haven High School football team defeated Weequahic High School with a score of 14-6 to capture the NJSIAA Group II State Championship for the second time in four years.

The RFH Bulldogs were also named the Central A Public Champions in the Shore Conference, and finished the season with an overall record of 11-1.
