Five months ago, a giant image of a cannabis leaf in the papered-over windows at the corner of Broad Street and Harding Road led some passersby to wonder if Red Bank was getting a medical marijuana dispensary.
Nope to dope: that was just artist
being provocatively playful about his plans to occupy the David Benegas long-vacant Lamplighter space with an art gallery.
Well, those plans have now gone up in smoke. Fortunately for the landlord, however, so did
Amy Manor‘s plan to create a design mecca for interior decorators over on West Front Street.

One of downtown Red Bank’s more glaring eyesore buildings is about to get a gut job.
The owners of the highly successful
12 Broad Street have acquired the former Love Lane tuxedo space around the corner at 23 West Front Street, partner Nima Nili confirmed Monday.

Wheres the love for the old Love Lane building?
The prominent storefront on West Front Street, with its distinctive retro signage, has remained stubbornly vacant for eight years, and the exterior is showing its age.
Now, amid many signs of resurgence on the block, the address is starting to stand out as an eyesore, neighbors say.
