Last time that Michael Bolton took to the stage of the Count Basie Theatre, the pop crooner delivered a dependably professional retrospective of his 1980s-90s chart-toppers (“That’s What Love is All About,” “Time Love and Tenderness,” “Go the Distance”) and ’60s soul resurrections (“Dock of the Bay,” “What Becomes of the Broken Hearted”).

When the serial Grammy winner rolls back into Red Bank on Sunday, he’ll be importing much of his act from Detroit โ€” with a salute to the heyday of the Motown studios and stable of acts that draws from Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, a just-released project that finds him sharing the mic with living legends (Smokey Robinson) and heirs apparent (Leona Lewis) alike.
