retail churn small After 90 years in Red Bank, Prown’s is leaving town.

The windows-and-doors dealer, a former five-and-dime that won enduring devotion as a retailer of “everything” needed for household upkeep, plans to move to Middletown, its owner said Wednesday.

RED BANK: FOUR MAYORS… AND SOME FRIENDS

lee kuo 050115lock menna 050115The first-ever Red Bank Mayor’s Charity Ball brought together three ex-mayors, the current one and some 250 of their friends at the Oyster Point Hotel Friday night. Among those in attendance: former Councilwoman Sharon Lee and restaurateur Victor Kuo, above, and Pastor John Lock, with Mayor Pasquale Menna, at right.

Proceeds from the $125-per-head event were earmarked for the Red Bank Public Library and the Parker Family Health Center.

COFFEE HOTSPOT ZEBU REOPENS AT NEW HOME

After five months of downtime, popular Red Bank coffee mainstay Zebu Forno reopened at a new address Thursday: 12 Broad Street  just a few doors down from the storefront it occupied for a decade at 20 Broad.
