The Monmouth County Board of Commissioners last week honored a team of Red Bank Charter School students who took second place in the Capitol Hill Challenge, a national financial education competition.
The team, comprising Riley Regina, Sofia Morales-Santamaria, David Tiro, and Jack Young, raked in the theoretical dough in a contest in which teams manage a hypothetical $100,000 online portfolio of stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and cash. The contest pit them against 7,300 students representing every U.S. congressional district.
The Red Bank Mayor and Borough Council also recognized the team last week with a proclamation at last week’s meeting. (See photo below)
