BUCS GO TO 5-0 AFTER ROAD WIN

ROAD WINS PUT BUCS & CASEYS AT 3-0

Week three of the 2015 high school football season kicked off with Friday night victories by Red Bank Regional and Red Bank Catholic, and the video cameras of Shore Sports Zone were there.

On the road at Ocean Township, the RBR Bucs’ 16-6 win was highlighted by an 88-yard TD by Matt Reardon on a a Jack Navitsky pass to end the third quarter. Reardon also busted up Ocean’s attempt for two after its lone touchdown. The Bucs are now 3-0 on the season.

R-FH, RBC & RBR POST CONVINCING WINS

How did your high school football team do Friday night? Pretty darn well, if you’re talking about Rumson-Fair Haven, Red Bank Catholic or Red Bank Regional, as this monster highlight reel from Shore Sports Zone  shows.

Playing at home, the R-FH Bulldogs topped the Matawan Huskies 17-0 in a game with a scoreless second half. Quarterback Michael O’Connor connected with sophomore receiver Elijah McAllister for a 16-yard touchdown pass: check it out at the start of the reel.

Fast-forward to 5:50 if you’re in a rush to see how Eddie Hahn and the 2014 state champion RBC Caseys played against St. Joe’s of Metuchen. A week after putting the Caseys in the capable hands of backup QB Colin Shaughnessy, Hahn returned from injury for his first appearance of the season by tossing three TDs, including a 49-yarder to Mike Wilen, who also ripped an 80-yard TD run against the Falcons.

Then zap ahead to 9:40 to see highlights of Colts Neck at RBR, where a Matt Reardon interception sparked an offensive blitzkrieg that ended with a 30-0 blowout win for the Bucs, their second straight. RBC KICKS OFF SEASON WITH 28-0 WIN

RBC IN ‘RESET’ MODE AFTER STATE TITLE

.Shore Sports Zone kicks off its 2015 Shore Conference preview tour with 2014 state champion Red Bank Catholic. Led on the field by quarterback Eddie Hahn, the Caseys say they’re in reset mode, adjusting to the loss of 14 starters but looking forward, not backward, says Coach Jim Portela.

RBC: HAHN HEADING TO UCONN

CBA ICES DON BOSCO FOR STATE CROWN

Baseball powerhouse Don Bosco Prep came into the Non-Public “A” state championship game at Toms River East on Sunday game with a 29-0 record and a national ranking. But Christian Brothers Academy, led by pitcher Luca Dalatri, were unfazed. Dalatri threw a complete game, striking out 12, and added a solo homer in the fifth as the Colts stopped the Ironmen cold, 7-0. Shore Sports Zone has all the action and post-game reaction from the Colts.

CBA TOPS RBC FOR SCT BASEBALL CROWN

In a game rescheduled twice for rainouts, Joe Gargana and Kenny Campbell combined on a four-hit shutout as Lincroft’s Christian Brothers Academy blanked rival Red Bank Catholic, 4-0, to win its second straight Shore Conference baseball title at Toms River North Thursday evening. Shore Sports Zone has all the action and post-game reaction from the Colts.

RBC LINEMAN SMITH COMMITS TO DUKE

Shore Sports Zone All-Zone offensive lineman Liam Smith, a junior at Red Bank Catholic, has given a verbal commitment to play in the ACC for David Cutcliffe and the Duke Blue Devils, according to a post on his Twitter account.

Anthony DeRosa and Evan Madigan drove in four runs each as Red Bank Catholic swamped Red Bank Regional, 15-6, in Little Silver Wednesday morning. The Bucs closed a 5-1 deficit with three runs in the bottom of the 4th, highlighted by a Nick Massa two-run base hit, but the Caseys answered with four runs in the 5th to put the game away. HOCKEY: RBC EARNS SHOT AT ANOTHER TITLE

RBC GIRLS END NEPTUNE’S UNBEATEN STREAK

Sophomore JosIe Larkins had 18 points to lead the Red Bank Catholic Caseys to a victory at home against previously unbeaten Neptune Tuesday.
