FAKE COP BUSTED IN ROAD RAGE

It was a tense situation for one Garden State Parkway driver earlier this week who was being chased by a man claiming to be a State Police officer.

Beginning on the Parkway and continuing to Monmouth Avenue, a victim was chased in a road rage incident by a Manasquan man who continually flashed his lights trying to get the car ahead of him to pull over. Police said the man, Michael Keller, pulled out an I.D. and threatened the unnamed victim. Keller has no affiliation with the State Police, Middletown Detective Sergeant Steve Dollinger said.

He was placed under arrest for a handful of offenses.

Little Silver police and the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating a possible robbery attempt at the Wells Fargo bank on Prospect Avenue Tuesday afternoon.

As of 5:30 p.m., authorities were still on the scene — next door to the Little Silver Police Department — trying to sort out the details of differing reports in a late-afternoon incident at the bank.
