Nicole Theresa Moore, the 17-year-old daughter of Sea Bright Police Chief William Moore, was identified yesterday as the victim of a fatal crash early Tuesday morning in Ocean Township.
Authorities had withheld details of the accident, in which the girl’s vehicle hit a tree, for two days pending notification of family members and preparation of a preliminary police report, according the account in today’s Asbury Park Press. The cause of the accident has not yet been determined, but there is no evidence that alcohol was a factor, an Ocean Township police official told the Press.
Nicole was the sole occupant of the vehicle. She was to begin her senior year at Ocean Township High School next month.
The Moores live in the Wanamassa section of Ocean.
