CLEANER FOUND DEAD IN RUMSON POOL
A 25-year-old employee of a Red Bank pool cleaning service was found dead in a Rumson pool this morning when co-workers returned to pick him up after dropping him off earlier, the Asbury Park Press is reporting.
The victim, not yet publicly identified, was an employee of Edgewater Pool Co. and was from Mexico City, according to the story, which says the man drowned.
The pool is at a home on Somerset Drive, the paper reports on its website.
From the story:
The Rumson First Aid Squad attempted unsuccessfully to revive the worker, [Lt. Scott] Paterson said.
“They worked on him for over a half an hour. They tried everything to bring him back,” Paterson said.
The cause of the drowning is still under investigation. Police are withholding the name of the worker until next of kin can be notified. Paterson said the man was married.
