With brother Carl away on vacation, Bob and eternally young Kathy Lou Colmorgen were deprived of their customary wheelman last week.
It’s Carl, you see, who likes to jump in his car to hunt down or confirm suspected ‘Where’ locations first thing Thursday mornings.
But Bob and Kathy Lou have plenty of Red Bank knowledge and memories of their own to help them identify ‘Where’ sites even in Carl’s absence.
“Our guess is the Welsh Farms Store on East Front Street and Spring Street,” Kathy Lou wrote. “The coloring is not the same but the image is the symbol for Welsh Farms.”
Of course, as usual, they’re right.
“I recognized the image because I have viewed it on milk bottles for a number of years,” Kathy Lou continued. “Our father delivered milk for Welsh Farms before he retired.
“Prior to working for them, he worked for Shrewsbury Dairy (now the Valley Bank on Route 35 and White Road in Shrewsbury) and Edgewood Diary in Farmingdale.”
Congrats to the two youngest Colmorgen kids.
With Carl’s return from California, where he was visiting his grandchildren, let’s see if the Colmorgens — or any other readers — can readily identify this week’s image.
Hint: It doesn’t depict the Colmorgen clan. Or at least, we don’t think it does.
